Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance our enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for software development, production support, system optimization, and continuous improvements to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability in a dynamic, high-volume environment. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams while following industry best practices and delivering high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Development & Enhancements
- Design, develop, test, and implement new software features and system enhancements.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Write clean, reusable, and efficient code following coding standards.
- Participate in application architecture discussions and technical design.
- Continuously improve application functionality and user experience.
2. Production Support
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
- Handle bug fixes, hotfix deployments, and critical incident resolution.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Coordinate with QA, DBA, and Infrastructure teams to ensure system stability.
- Maintain application availability and minimize production downtime.
3. Performance Optimization
- Analyze application performance and identify bottlenecks.
- Optimize Java application code and Angular front-end performance.
- Improve database queries and Oracle database interactions.
- Support application tuning and infrastructure optimization for enhanced efficiency.
- Recommend performance improvements based on system monitoring and analytics.
4. Collaboration & Coordination
- Collaborate with Technical Leads, QA Engineers, Database Administrators, and Client Stakeholders.
- Participate in requirement gathering, sprint planning, and solution design discussions.
- Support release planning, deployment activities, and post-release monitoring.
- Communicate project progress, technical challenges, and proposed solutions effectively.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.
5. Code Quality & Best Practices
- Follow established coding standards and software development best practices.
- Conduct peer code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for new features, enhancements, and system changes.
- Ensure proper version control using Git and follow CI/CD deployment processes.
- Promote secure coding practices and software reliability.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Angular, and modern AI development tools.
- Experience working with Oracle Database and SQL optimization.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, web services, and third-party integrations.
- Experience supporting production environments and ticket-based support systems.
- Familiarity with Git, ITSM tools, release management, and deployment processes.
- Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of Agile software development methodologies.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with middleware upgrades and legacy system modernization.
- Knowledge of application performance tuning and system optimization techniques.
- Understanding of enterprise software architecture and scalable application design.
- Experience working with cloud platforms and DevOps practices is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools and automation workflows.
